Bentonite Clay
Bentonite Clay: Nature’s Powerful Healing Clay
**Product Overview**
Bentonite clay is a natural healing clay formed from ancient volcanic ash. Rich in minerals like magnesium, silica, calcium, and potassium, it has been used for centuries in skincare and natural wellness.
This incredibly absorptive clay works in two powerful ways:
**Draws impurities and toxins out**
**Delivers beneficial minerals back in**
Whether for skin support, minor injuries, or soothing everyday irritations, bentonite clay is a must-have in any natural wellness kit.
**Important:** Do not let the clay come into contact with metal. Metal can reduce its effectiveness.
**Key Benefits**
* Pulls toxins and impurities from the skin
* Reduces inflammation and irritation
* Soothes burns, rashes, stings, and bites
* Draws out oils from poison ivy/oak/sumac
* Provides fast relief from itching
* Supports healing of acne and minor cuts
* Great for tick or spider bites
* Useful for mastitis support in humans and animals
* Safe for babies as a natural diaper-rash remedy
* Perfect for detox baths and foot soaks
**How to Use**
**Basic Mix Ratio:**
**1 part clay powder : 2 parts water**
Use wooden, plastic, or silicone utensils—avoid metal.
**Common Uses & Instructions**
**Burns**
Create a thick clay poultice and apply to the affected area. Cover with a *wet* cloth, then wrap with a dry cloth. Do not allow the clay to dry. Replace every few hours.
**Poison Ivy, Oak, or Sumac**
Mix clay with apple cider vinegar to make a paste. Apply with rubber gloves and reapply throughout the day. Helps draw out irritating oils and calm itching.
**Shingles**
Apply a clay-and-water paste over the affected area. Cover with cotton or flannel and secure loosely. Reapply morning and night.
*Avoid high-arginine foods during shingles flare-ups.*
**Splinters (Adults & Children)**
Apply clay paste over the splinter area and cover for a few hours. The splinter often rises to the surface for easy removal—ideal for young children.
**Mastitis Support**
Apply clay paste over the inflamed area and cover with a moist cloth. Reapply hourly.
(Optional: Pair with the natural infection pills I offer for additional support.)
If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
**Tick, Spider & Insect Bites**
Apply clay paste directly to the bite. Relief is typically fast. Rinse and reapply several times daily until healed.
**Diaper Rash**
Gently apply a thin layer of clay paste to the rash. Redness often improves within hours. Works beautifully with my **Plantain Lotion**.
**Detox Foot Mask & Soak**
* 2 tbsp bentonite clay
* 2–3 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
* ½ cup magnesium flakes or Epsom salt
* Hot filtered water
